Beginning Yoga
This class introduces basic yoga concepts to enhance strength, flexibility, and the body-mind connection.  Matching movements to long, smooth, even inhalations and exhalations grounds us in breath and balance.  This practice brings steadiness and ease.  Each teacher has a unique way of transmitting the yoga practice, and there are a variety of teachers to take Beginning Yoga from here.  We create a warm, safe, and non-intimidating environment.  Beginners can bring a friend for free.

Beginner Body ~ Yoga Mind
People tend to stretch from their more flexible areas and rely on their better-developed muscles for strength, thus reinforcing postural habits. We will use props such as blankets, blocks, chairs and straps to facilitate learning and adjust yoga postures to your individual needs. These props are especially useful for helping beginners at midlife and older, and for students with specific physical limitations, to reap the benefits of yoga.  [schedule]

Belly Dance
A class for any level, with a focus on learning (or reaffirming!) how to move your body in a safe and natural way in the context of this most ancient dance form. We will not be learning any choreographies, but will work with basic movements and experiment with different ways of using them and putting them together. Summer being what it is, each class will be a new adventure, so you are welcome to drop in any time! Open to ages 10 and up (under 13 should be accompanied by an adult) and guys are welcome, too. Bring a hip scarf if you have it, but I'll have a few to loan if you don't.  [schedule]

Belly Fit
Belly Fit is a fun opportunity for women to strengthen their bodies in a fluid, natural way. A blending of modern training in fitness with the wisdom and power of ancient cultures, this class is designed to connect you to the primal feminine within and empower you to be joyful in your body and deal with everyday challenges. The first half of the class gets you sweating off your calories and stress with easy to learn moves inspired by belly dance and African dance. The second half focuses on reminding your muscles to work for the good of the whole body with core toning and sculpting inspired by Pilates. Last but not least, a relaxing Yoga inspired stretch and an uplifting mudra meditation. Namaste. [schedule]
